Akhilesh Yadav and name change

Posted on July 28, 2012 by Vincent Augustine D'Souza

Akhilesh Yadav has done what no Indian politician has done. He changed the names that were changed by Mayawati and reverted to former names. Mayawati had changed the names of Amethi, Hathras, Kanpur Dehat, Shamli, Sambhal, Kashganj, Hapur and King George Medical University to Chhatrapati Sahuji Maharaj Nagar, Mahamaya Nagar, Jyotiba Phule Nagar, Ramabai Nagar, Prabudhanagar, Bheemnagar, Kanshiram Nagar, Panchasheelnagar and Chhatrapati Sahuji Maharaj Medical University. Now they are once again Amethi, Hathras, Kanpur Dehat, Shamli, Sambhal, Kashganj, Hapur and King George Medical University.

Fake gold medals

Posted on July 28, 2012 by Vincent Augustine D'Souza

Olympics is under way. Gold, silver, bronze medals are given to athletes who come first, second, third. However gold medals are fake. They have only 6 grammes gold which is 1.34%. The gold medals have 92.5% silver. The rest is copper or something else.

The last time genuine gold medals were awarded was in 1912. In 1984 I had read that genuine gold medals will be awarded in Los Angeles Olympics but it seems that was not the case. Billions of dollars or euros or pounds or some other currencies are spent in hosting Olympics but in giving gold medals enough money is not spent and fake medals are given.

President Pranab

Posted on July 26, 2012 by Vincent Augustine D'Souza

Pranab Mukherjee is the president of India. He could not become prime minister, even caretaker prime minister, home minister and missed becoming president in 2007. There was suspense about his candidature. When during Congress Working Committee meeting he proposed authorising Congress president to nominate candidates for president and vice president he seemed out of equation. Mamata Banerjee and Mulayam Singh Yadav said they did not want him or Hamid Ansari and proposed A. P. J. Abdul Kalam, Manmohan Singh and Somnath Chatterjee. It seemed all over for Pranab Mukherjee but Mulayam Singh Yadav turned around and supported him. JD(U) and Shiv Sena supported Pranab Mukherjee. There was split in Left Front. CPI(M) supported him. CPI abstained. At the end Mamata Banerjee also supported him.

House of Lords

Posted on July 19, 2012 by Vincent Augustine D'Souza

House of Lords consists of 26 Anglican bishops (Lords Spiritual), 92 hereditary peers, life peers and peeresses and judges of the Supreme Court of Judicature (Law Lords).

There is talk of reforming House of Lords. On 10 July 2012 David Cameron’s government introduced a bill in House of Commons for reform of House of Lords. Its size was to be reduced from 826 to 450. It will be called Senate and 80% of the members will be elected. The demand for reform is from Liberal Democrats who are in coalition with David Cameron’s Conservatives. More than reform it is replacement of House of Lords with another house.

Justice International

Posted on July 3, 2012 by Vincent Augustine D'Souza

I announce the founding of Justice International. I am the founder and president.

The aim is to get justice to victims and their families. Those who wish to join can write to vincent@go4quiz.com

We will fight for death penalty in all countries for all cases of murder, attempted murder, abduction, acid throwing, hijacking, kidnapping, piracy and such high crimes. Death penalty should not be restricted to rarest of rare cases. It is immaterial how much time has passed after the crime. It is ridiculous to say a murderer should be hanged within one year but should not be hanged if a long time has passed. It is immaterial whether the criminal has reformed or not. We will see that death penalty is restored in Canada, European Union, Russia, Mexico, South Africa and such countries.
