BJP is a national party. Shiv Sena is a regional party. They are in alliance and part of NDA. At one time both parties had Hindutva as main agenda and that brought them close. BJP had alliances with regional parties which lasted a few years. It had alliance with TDP in Andhra Pradesh. It had alliance with AIADMK in Tamil Nadu. That broke down in 1999 and BJP had alliance with DMK and its associates which broke down in 2004. BJP and Shiv Sena had differences over certain matters over the years and they had ended in compromise.
Most of the political parties in India are family or personal properties. Congress is the property of Nehru-Gandhi family, National Conference of Abdullah family, AIADMK of Jayalalitha, BSP of Mayawati, TMC of Mamata Banerjee, DMK of Karunanidhi, JD (S) of Deve Gowda and so on. BJP and Left Front parties are exceptions.
Constituencies have also handed over to family members. When an MP or MLA dies a member of his /her family is the inheritor.
Over the years CBI has lost credibility. In many cases state police did a good job. After the case was handed over to CBI it was disaster. Cases of Aarushi-Hemraj murders, Scarlett Keeling murder and Telgi fake stamp paper cases suffered after they were handed over to CBI. Rajesh Talwar, Aarushi’s father, who was under arrest, was let off by CBI. CBI arrested three persons but did not file chargesheet within 90 days and the three got bail. In Rizwanur Rahman murder case CBI said it was suicide. In Telgi fake stamp paper case the amount of Rs.37,000 crores got reduced to few hundred crore rupees. There was narco test and name(s) of some politician(s) had come out but there was no investigation on that front.
I am a candidate to become the President of India for which soon there will be election. The new President is to take over on 25/7/2007. I ask political parties and independent MPs and MLAs who can vote in the election to support me. Nominated MPs and MLAs cannot vote in the election of the President.
Congress in is favour of common man (aam admi). Their slogan is “Congress ka hath aam admi ke sath†(The hand of Congress is with common man). Congress leads UPA. I am a common man. So Congress led UPA should support me. Left Front generally goes along with UPA. So Left Front should support me. Left has three criteria for the candidate like he should be a political person and should have secular credentials. I do not remember the third criterion. Left can overlook its criteria as I they may not consider me a political person. But once I am elected Left will find me political.
Right is right even though nobody is right. Wrong is wrong even though everybody is wrong.
If Parliament passes a law that is unjust it does not become right.
In Delhi and many other cities students had opposed reservations. It is likely that in future political parties opposed to reservations will come up.
Election Commission has announced polls for UP in seven phases. This is a record.
For al long time elections for a Legislative Assembly were held on a single day.
Polls for Lok Sabha used to be in two phases. In 1989 it was in three phases.
In 2004 Lok Sabha polls were held in four phases.
BMC election results were a shock for Congress. It refused an alliance with NCP which was ready to contest 65 seats out of 227. Priya Dutt was not consulted. Govinda was upset that his candidates were not given tickets and did not campaign. The leaders who predicted victory for Congress were proved wrong. Chhagan Bhujbal…
Caste system is a cancer. It needs to be got rid of. It has damaged Hindu community. With spread of education and urbanization caste system should have disappeared. Reservations based on caste kept the caste identity going.
It was wrong to have reservations. The constitution of India proposed reservations for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes for 10 years. They would have lapsed on 26/10/1960. They have been extended every ten years. Many other castes got reservations as socially and educationally backward classes due to an amendment to the Constitution.
