I expected five medals in London Olympics; one each in archery, badminton, boxing, shooting, and wrestling. We got six. In archery we did not get a medal. In badminton we got one. In boxing we got one. I expected a medal from one of the seven men; we got from a woman, Mary Kom, the…
Corruption in India and China
In India project costs go up and the final figure is many times of that of original figure. The original figure for Commonwealth Games 2010 was around 160 crore rupees. It went up and up and final figure was around 1,02,000 crore rupees. Shunglu committee reports were suppressed. Nobody was punished for swindling. In Olympics 2008 China won 51 gold and many silver and bronze medals, India won one gold and two bronze. The gold medal was largely due to private effort. The medals India wins in any Olympics can be counted on fingers of one hand.

NDTV has filed a suit in New York against The Nielsen of USA and Kantar Media Research, owned by WPP Plc of UK for two billion dollars for TRPs by TAM Media Research Pvt. India and Olympic medals
India got its first Olympic medal in 1928. That was gold medal in hockey in Amsterdam. India continued to win gold medal in hockey till 1956. That was the only medal India used to win except in 1952 when it also won a bronze medal. In 1960 it was silver medal. In 1964 India reverted…
Criminal journalists
Journalists who accompany hooligans, molesters and vandals and shoot the scenes and show them on TV are criminals. TV channels want to increase their TRPs and abet crimes. Journalists who abet and film crimes should be prosecuted for abetment to crime. TV channels should be barred from showing clips of hooligans and molesters beating and…
Akhilesh Yadav and name change
Akhilesh Yadav has done what no Indian politician has done. He changed the names that were changed by Mayawati and reverted to former names. Mayawati had changed the names of Amethi, Hathras, Kanpur Dehat, Shamli, Sambhal, Kashganj, Hapur and King George Medical University to Chhatrapati Sahuji Maharaj Nagar, Mahamaya Nagar, Jyotiba Phule Nagar, Ramabai Nagar, Prabudhanagar, Bheemnagar, Kanshiram Nagar, Panchasheelnagar and Chhatrapati Sahuji Maharaj Medical University. Now they are once again Amethi, Hathras, Kanpur Dehat, Shamli, Sambhal, Kashganj, Hapur and King George Medical University.
Fake gold medals
Olympics is under way. Gold, silver, bronze medals are given to athletes who come first, second, third. However gold medals are fake. They have only 6 grammes gold which is 1.34%. The gold medals have 92.5% silver. The rest is copper or something else.
The last time genuine gold medals were awarded was in 1912. In 1984 I had read that genuine gold medals will be awarded in Los Angeles Olympics but it seems that was not the case. Billions of dollars or euros or pounds or some other currencies are spent in hosting Olympics but in giving gold medals enough money is not spent and fake medals are given.
Indian men and sex crimes
There are people who talk as if India was free from sex crimes and Indian men have suddenly taken to sex crimes. A few Indian men commit sex crimes and these people speak as if all Indian men are sex criminals.
Sex crimes have taken place since the beginning of history all over the world. Men in other countries commit sex crimes. In recent years due to TV channels there is more reporting of sex crimes.
Repeal second amendment
The original constitution of USA had seven articles and did not have the right to bear arms. Amendments to the constitution added more articles. The Congress on 25 September 1789 proposed to add 12 articles as amendments. Of these first 10 were ratified and came into effect on 15 December 1791.
Second amendment: A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.
President Pranab
Pranab Mukherjee is the president of India. He could not become prime minister, even caretaker prime minister, home minister and missed becoming president in 2007. There was suspense about his candidature. When during Congress Working Committee meeting he proposed authorising Congress president to nominate candidates for president and vice president he seemed out of equation. Mamata Banerjee and Mulayam Singh Yadav said they did not want him or Hamid Ansari and proposed A. P. J. Abdul Kalam, Manmohan Singh and Somnath Chatterjee. It seemed all over for Pranab Mukherjee but Mulayam Singh Yadav turned around and supported him. JD(U) and Shiv Sena supported Pranab Mukherjee. There was split in Left Front. CPI(M) supported him. CPI abstained. At the end Mamata Banerjee also supported him.
