India Most Populous

As per I-Media of Taiwan on 4/3/2022 at 11.58.35 p.m. India became the most populous country in the world with a population of 1,415,653,821 i.e., one billion four hundred fifteen million six hundred fifty-three thousand eight hundred twenty-one, as per Western numbering or 141,56,53,821 i.e., One hundred forty-one crores fifty-six lakhs fifty-three thousand eight hundred twenty-one, as per Indian numbering.   One tweet wrongly mentioned time as 11.58 a.m. Taiwan time is 2.30 hours ahead of India.  So, in India it was 9.28.35 p.m. China’s population is said to be 1.4126 billion at the end of 2021.

India’s decennial census should have taken place in 2021.  It was postponed due to Corona.  It is March 2022.  No news when census will take place.

Some doubt India’s number one position.  For long China followed one child policy.  India overtaking China was a matter of time.  Some years back there was a report that China’s population is less than what is reported.  Many state governments under report deaths to avoid reduction in grants. In recent years China adopted two children policy and then three children policy.  That has not made much difference.

India’s total fertility rate has declined over years and is now at replacement level.  Many countries face population decline and want to have more children.  India should avoid punishing couples with more than two children.  Demographic dividend is good.  Otherwise, old people will be more than young people.  Immigrants will take over countries.

India should ban abortion except in cases of pregnancy by deceit, rape and saving mother’s life.  Government money should not be spent on contraceptives, tubectomies and vasectomies.

People who talk of population problem should know they are population.  Prime Minister is population.  Ministers are population.  MPs, MLAs, MLCs, corporators, panchayat members are population.  Architects, builders, carpenters, doctors, drivers, engineers, farmers, masons, pilots, show business peoples, soldiers, sportspersons, tailors, teachers, veterinarians, watchmen and other professionals are population.
