Chapter 33 - Horse Flu
November was coming to an end. Horses started having flu. Horse flu spread to people. On 1st December one person in Peking died of horse flu.

Next day one person in Canton and one person in Peking died of horse flu.

Third day one person each in Hong Kong, Bangkok, Canton and Peking died of horse flu. Flood in Istanbul.

On 4th December one person each in Saigon, Tokyo, Dacca, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Bangkok, Canton and Peking died of horse flu. Horse flu kept spreading to other parts of the world.

On 5th December Batavia, Cairo, Damascus, Tel Aviv, Karachi, Kabul, Teheran and Tripoli reported first deaths and 16 people died of horse flu.

On 6th December Rangoon, Khartoum, Algiers, Tunis, Ankara and Tirana reported first deaths and 32 people died of horse flu.

On 7th December Lagos and Nairobi reported first deaths and 64 people died of horse flu.

On 8th December Berlin, London, Paris and Rome reported first deaths and 128 people died of horse flu. Horse flu spread from cities to villages.

On 9th December Salisbury and Pretoria reported first deaths and 256 people died of horse flu.

On 10th December Sydney, Wellington, Riyadh and Brunei reported first deaths and 512 people died of horse flu.

On 11th December Algiers, Rabat and Tunis reported first deaths and 1024 people died of horse flu.

On 12th December Los Angeles, Montreal and New York reported first deaths and 2048 people died of horse flu.

On 13th December Alma Ata, Dushanbe and Tashkent reported first deaths and 4096 people died of horse flu.

On 14th December Colombo, Kuala Lumpur and Singapore reported first deaths and 8192 people died of horse flu.

On 15th December Amsterdam and Brussels reported first deaths and 16384 people died of horse flu.

On 16th December Pyongyang, Vientiane and Phnom Penh reported first deaths and 32768 people died of horse flu.

On 17th December Budapest, Calcutta, Delhi and Madras reported first deaths and 65536 people died of horse flu.

On 18th December Bucharest, Ahmedabad, Hyderabad and Trivandrum reported first deaths and 131072 people died of horse flu.

On 19th December Vienna, Bombay, Bhopal, Lucknow, Patna and Jaipur reported first deaths and 262144 people died of horse flu. People thought the end of the world was near. Those who not attended the church for a long time started to attend the church. Stopped going to theatres. Started watching religious channels. Entertainment channels viewership kept declining. Some people closed their bank accounts. There were many out of court settlements.

On 20th December Bogota, Caracas and Quito reported first deaths and 524288 people died of horse flu. Scientists tried to develop a vaccine to stop the spread of horse flu. Some thought they can take loans from banks and spend without having to repay them as the world will end. They did not get the loans. The standard reply was “Your loan application is being processed.” Many banks did not have money to lend. Those that had did not want to take a risk. Some countries advanced their Christmas holidays for schools. Some shut down theatres.

On 21st December Buenos Aires, La Paz and Sao Paulo reported first deaths and 1048576 people died of horse flu.

On 22nd December Lima and Valparaiso reported first deaths and 2097152 people died of horse flu.

On 23rd December Ascuncion, Montevideo, Managua and San Salvador reported first deaths and 4194304 people died of horse flu.

On 24th December Kampala, Lusaka and Maputo reported first deaths and 8388608 people died of horse flu.

On 25th December Chungking, Kiangsu, Honan and Moscow reported first deaths and 16777216 people died of horse flu.

On 26th December 33554432 people died of horse flu. There were no spectators for Boxing Day Test in Australia.

On 27th December 67108864 people died of horse flu.

On 28th December 134217728 people died of horse flu.

On 29th December 268435456 people died of horse flu.

On 30th December 536870912 people died of horse flu.

On 31st December 1073741824 people died of horse flu.

In all 2147483647 people died of horse flu.

In some places the undertaker and the grave digger died. Family members had to dig the graves. Open spaces outside cities turned into cemeteries. In many places there were no people to bury the dead.

Prostitutes and men who had sex with prostitutes, men and women who had sex against the order of nature, drug addicts, smokers, alcoholics and drunkards did not survive horse flu. There were no buyers for cocaine, heroine, amphetamine, ecstasy and such substances. Poppy, tobacco and opium cultivation ceased.

Pork, beef, chicken and mutton eaters survived horse flu.
